This episode changed a generation.

lilith was created before eve from the same soil as adam to be his wife
she refused to lay beneath him, wishing to be his equal, only willing to have sex with him if she was on his side or on top
adam tried to force her to have sex with him the way he wanted, so she left him and became a demon…
i mean we could talk about how lilith was a badass who’d rather be a demon than be subservient to a man or we could talk about the allegory here where a woman who demands agency is LITERALLY demonized… or the reality that this story means that the first man in the bible (or the first man ever, if you subscribe to that) was a rapist! great start, boys
this is so important.
I wonder how different shit would be if Adam attempting to rape Lilith was the “original sin” instead of Eve eating the apple.
“Aprils is sexual assault awareness and prevention month, so… [yelling] KEEP YO MOTHERFUCKING HANDS TO YOURSELF!!”
My favorite is that story every white person has that’s like, “My friend didn’t get into her dream school because they took a black guy with a lower GPA instead.” As though they were in the admissions office and heard the admissions officers going, “Well, there’s one spot left, and we have to choose between this brilliant white girl or this black idiot. I guess we’ll choose the black guy, because Affirmative Action means we have to!” They don’t know their friend’s exact GPA or that of the person who “got in instead,” or if they applied to the same program, or if one had a lower GPA but better test scores or extracurriculars or volunteer hours or personal statement, or if the other was a legacy. All they know is, “My white friend got rejected, but there are black people at the school,” and they see their white friends as being inherently smarter and more worthy of an education, so they assume automatically that the black people there are unqualified and were unfairly accepted.
ok so i was watching this gif carefully
and when i first saw it i was like “aww Nat jumping into steve’s lap that’s so cute she’s like AHH STEVE SAVE ME” and then i was thinking ‘well she probably realized he’s way stronger than she is and could help shield her if they crashed’
but then i kept watching it and i noticed how she immediately pulls him forward
and first i thought it was the momentum of her jump but you can clearly see in the gif how she gets settled (quickly) THEN pulls him close to her
and then i realized
that is a bullet hole.
Nat somehow knew EXACTLY where Steve was gonna get shot at, jumped up into his seat, and saved him
Natasha Fucking Romanoff
she didn’t just jump in the front to save steve, tws shot at her first
she also pushed sam away from the bullet bc she knew he’s next
all of this in the span of 3 seconds how fast do u think her brain works i mean DAMN
“Whether you like it or not, being Asian has a big impact on who you are as a person.”
Natalie Tran is a wonderful human and I take so much joy in her existence.
This is from a talk she gave at Brown, the link above is to the YouTube video and the whole thing is great.
Like, 90% of infomercial style products were designed by/for disabled people, but you wouldn’t know that, because there is no viable market for them. THey have to be marketted and sold to abled people just so that any money can be made of off them and so the people who actually need them will have access.
I think snuggies are the one example
almosteveryone knows. They were invented for wheelchair users (Do you have any idea how hard it is to get a coat on and off of someone in a wheelchair? Cause it’s PRETTY FUCKIN HARD.) But now everyone just acts like they’re some ~quirky, white people thing~ and not A PRODUCT DESIGNED TO MAKE PEOPLES DAY TO DAY LIVES 10000X EASIER.
But if at any point you were to take your head out of your own ass and go “Hey, who would a product like this benefit,” that would be really cool.
This makes informational make so much sense now.
Like… of course there’s no reason for that guy to knock over that bowl of chips. However, the person it was actually designed for has constant hand tremors that would make this pretty rad, but since we don’t want to show that in a commercial, here’s an able bodied guy who can’t remember how gravity works.
Shit. Those commercials suddenly get a lot less funny when you realize it’s pretty much just people ineptly trying to mimic disability.
ur friend who is slowly starting to understand feminism: hey… isn’t it like… isn’t it like kinda fucked up that boys can just do like… whatever they want? and girls cant?
you: yaaaaas yas keep digging gurl, feel the inequality of the patriarchy… go offfff
“Do you have to be so vulgar about men, like they’re pieces of meat?”
I HAVE WAITED SO LONG FOR THIS GIF SET
